Our friends continue to celebrate Mixgalaxy Records 1st birthday! This time we get a present from Frostclick project. It’s a blog about free legal content created to support Frostwire application. Thanks to Valerie for this review and thanks to Kademlia for permanent support! Below is the text of original article.

MixGalaxy Records celebrates their birthday bash by releasing some of the best ambient, downtempo and chillout tracks in their roster. Formed back in 2009, this cool Russian net-label took their name after being local residents of MixGalaxy.ru forums.

Now turning 1, this awesome netlabel gathers together 20 of the best dub, ambient, downtempo cuts into one relaxing album. Have a listen and enjoy a pleasant trip to a surreal musical landscape.

David MacFedyen That’s the title of outstanding review (on our Downtempest Hits birthday compilation) made by our good friend UCLA professor David MacFadyen, who is curator of Far From Moscow project. This resource is named after a famous Soviet novel, celebrating the heroic efforts of Siberian oil workers during World War Two, an awfully long way from comfort or safety. Project’s aim is to support a similar, far-flung diligence on the Russian and ex-USSR “cultural front” today. Below is a text of the original article.

Maybe it’s not right for a netlabel curator to write things like this, but I’m just trying to be honest.

The world of so called “netaudio” (here and after under “netaudio” I mean netlabels world with all artists and netlabels, and not commercial artists who sometimes give their works for free with promo purposes) is kinda silent. A year has passed since the birth of Russian netlabel Mixgalaxy Records and with that time sweeping past there were 15 releases of very diverse genres with many tracks worthy of mentioning “Yes, we released that!” And to celebrate our first birthday we prepared a special compilation which opens our ‘Best of’ series. It was gathered from our best tunes released during 2009-2010 that are the most epic, the most catchy, the most melodic, the most deep and the most chilly tracks in downtempo, ambient, chillout and new age genres from our Russian residents. Thanks for being with us and stay tuned!

And another one short movie, and another one Mixgalaxy Records track in there. Well it’s really short but still nice film from Vincent Boulord who choose Yokandesh – Voando Alto song (MIXG010) for ‘Le Reveur’ soundtrack. Enjoy!
