Russian electronic music team Sinestesia is back with a new full length album. This time their music is more resonant with cold season of winter, spilling dark somber tunes all over the room. Ethnical themes enrich this ensemble of underground electronics with spicy flavor of spiritual forces. Strong emphasis on subconscious and psychedelic tone of compositions provide deep involvement for a careful listener. Attention towards details, which has always been a powerful side of this music project, is realized at its best in this work saturating tracks with dozens of cleverly combined sound effects and samples. VAD is Mixgalaxy old-timer, he contributed to numerous compilations of our label and now we proudly present you his solo album. It’s a mix of Russian folk singing with New Age music. Charming scent of traditions combined with rich electronic timbres gives birth to some nostalgic melancholy and rememberance of music one might have heard long long time ago, yet it manages to stay topical and fresh. It doesn’t matter if you were not born in Russia and haven’t absorbed that calm old-fashioned unity with nature that is streaming in the veins of Russian outlying districts – this music is going to share all this with you as a well written book. VAD’s huge composer experience enables him to communicate with the listener on this vivid language freely like he was telling you about his motherland with heart-warming expression, contagious interest and dozens of lively details. This time Mixgalaxy Records made a special compilation for Mr. Danny DeVito. Why? Because nobody has never done this for him before. At least officially. We sorta didn’t know what kind of music he prefers so we’ve set up a tracklist of a wide variety of genres for him to pick from. We decided that making it a private release would be unfair to our listeners so you all are very much welcome to give this record a listen and share it with your friends of course.

It’s an easy bet to say that for Mr. DeVito all the names here are new, however for our regular listeners this release is once again a mix of old timers (even including Jacobo – a raggae-dub side project of Sinestesia) and a couple of guest artists which we would like to present. Meet Abel Mariam from San Jose, California, USA who contributed an opening track and meet Russian-Norwegian duo Zunzagi which consists of sound producer Sergei from Tomsk and singer Julia from Oslo. And finally welcome Without Time band form Grodno, Bealrus.

So, as you can expect from Mixgalaxy Records it’s a nice one hour set of good tracks fluctuating from easy listening and folk-pop to electro-house, breakbeat and even hip-hop. 20.10.2010 Mixgalaxy Records (in cooperation with Oceana netlabel) presents MirRah album by Sinestesia project which was intoduced to you by us on Winter Tales comilation. Sinestesia’s music is about interpretation of mystical experience with all the attendant sound specifics, so we decided not to describe ‘em. This EP consists of a few never published works alongside with compositions performed live on ‘Empty Hills’ and ‘Loop&Toop’ festivals. What else? A new videoclip!

Clerkfish is an aquatic vertebrate that is covered with scales of cynicism. During the evolution process, this fish became cold-blooded because of eating different media products. There is only one thing in all aquatic environments that hepls this creature in self-realization – MUSIC. Clerkfish needs to eat at least one good mixtape every day, otherwise it dies fast either in abyssal depths of the chaotic post-modernist ocean or from a fisherman’s knife.

We happened to meet one in the nearest lake. It was a really weird creation that looked very hungry. So we had nothing to do than to feed the clerkfish with our latest mixtape that opened a new chapter of Mixgalaxy Records diary. Yes, we go international! Artists form around the world took part in this project. Among them are IMDB listed old-school hip-hop artist Brandon K. Montoya aka Coruscate and Bear & Lampshade duo from USA, Brazilian pop-singer Yokandesh, UK vocalist Gizella and finally Spanish multi-instrumentalist Raul Diaz Palomar aka Taker 51. Some of them have got slots in our release shedule.

And of course a few already known Mixgalaxy artists demonstrated their creativity again. So this is another salad-style compilation that proves our motto ‘Delivering Diverse Music’. Ambient, IDM, Russian folk-pop, acid broken beat, hip-hop, lounge, smooth jazz, hardcore space electronica, cold and warm, catchy and glitchy, melodic and abstract – everybody can find something for him- or herself. No doubt about it.

This winter Mixgalaxy Records prepared for you this very special compilation full of mystery and fairy-tale spirit with snowy scent of cold winter nights spiced with catchy melodies and grand arrangements. Our “Winter Tales” will give you a magic atmosphere, filling any place they’re being played at with viscous drones of ambient, sombre idm beats and soft chillout with folk-pop touched by traditional Russian music, making it suitable for nearly any situation whether it’s being a Christmas holiday party or just a steady evening spent alone.

The compilation explores each possible human emotion associated with this chill season being supported on this side by some guest appearances featuring project Sinestesia which hardly requires any detailed introduction to Russian electronic music arena since they have performed on numerous EDM festivals and been around for quite a while now.

Once again the artwork was produced by Gerdes who already became some sort of our staff artist since his simple pencil-drawn covers gradually help forming the face of the label. In addition, Gerdes also contributed his track Astel to “Winter Tales” and made his musical debut on our label. Few regularies appear alongside of new artists and new sounds, so let yourself be carried away by this rich and highly enjoyable music flow. Dive in!
